Kalaivani Chellappan
Associate Professor Kalaivani Chellappan is the Head of Healthcare Engineering Laboratory, which focuses on the physiological mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and on development of novel screening techniques for cardiovascular risk factors with emphasis on digital health technology. Dr Kalaivani earned her BEng (Hons) from Universiti Sains Malaysia, M.Sc. and PhD from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1995, 2000 and 2009, respectively. She served as an O&G Engineer in Esso Production Malaysia Inc (1995 – 1997), on the faculty of the Stamford College (1997-2001) and Taylor’s College (2002-2005) and Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (2005-2011), prior to joining Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2011 as the Research Fellow.
