Dr. Shahin Tabandeh, Senior scientist at VTT MIKESt, has almost 10 years of metrology experience in a wide field of quantities, including temperature, humidity and pressure as well as optical and microwave measure-ments. His background is in Mechanical Engineering and he holds a PhD in Metrology from Politecnico di Torino, Italy as well as a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Aalto University, Finland. He is a member of BIPM Consultative Committee for Thermometry (CCT) and an active member of CCT Working Group for Environment (CCT-WG-Env), CCT Working Group for Humidity (CCT-WG-Hu), CCT Task Group for Emerging Technologies (CCT-TG-CTh-ET) and is currently the work package leader in 18SIB02 Real-k project. He has been responsible for leading the work in several EMRP and EMRIR projects. He has been active in IND11 MADES, 14IND11 HIT, 14IND04 EMPRESS, 17IND04 EMPRESS 2, 17FUN05 PhotOQuanT, GBIRCAM AND 20IND06 PROMETH2O as European projects, Business Finland Quantum Technologies Industrial (QuTI) as a national project as well as several governmental and commercial projects on MEDA temperature, humidity and pressure sensors onboard the NASA’s Perseverance rover, thermal management of space telescopes for European Space Agency, CO2 and tritium measurements by exploiting cavity-ring down spectroscopy and optical refractometers.
